'ELLO 'ello 'ello, Preston Police has moved into a temporary 'cop shop'.
Their new office, intended as a 'drop in centre' to offer help and advice, will be located in St George's Shopping Centre's Rotunda. Staffed by a police officer and representatives of a number of other agencies, it will be open 10am-4pm every day until Sunday, October 31.
Officers want to emphasis that although the cop shop will be able to offer help during the half term holidays, it is not a police station and you cannot report a crime or produce motoring documents.
PC Allister Horn, town centre best manager for Preston Police, said: "The cop shop is intended to offer information and advice to members of the public, with a particular emphasis on crime prevention and personal safety issues.
"We have timed it to be open during the half term school holiday period because we are especially keen to talk to young people in an effort to make an impact on youth crime and disorder."
