OUTSPOKEN councillor Michael Moulding has slammed Preston Borough Council for failing to introduce traffic-calming safety measures to an accident blackspot.
Councillor Moulding asked for a safety report on the Plungington area following the death of a young girl there in June.
Around 60 people attended a public meeting to discuss safety issues then - but no work has been carried out as yet.
Michael, the Liberal Democrat councillor for Moor Park ward, delivered around 1,000 leaflets in the area, reminding residents that the council had taken no action.
He said: "A serious accident could happen at any time - and it will not be long until another follows. The council has had plenty of time to report back on official findings but we have heard nothing at all.
"Last Thursday I questioned the council's competence at a full council meeting - and I am calling on them to prove me wrong by acting immediately.
"Only immediate action will prevent another serious accident."
As well as blasting the lack of work at the council meeting, Coun Moulding also requested an immediate update on events, proposed solutions for the area and a new meeting with residents.
Coun Moulding's Focus letter also included a 'no parking' poster for residents to place in their windows following the council's refusal to grant them resident-only parking schemes in Plungington.
