IT WAS a case of as you were with no ground gained or lost as the two contenders for the Division One title fought out a draw.
Champions Broadway A, unbeaten at home for more than four years, were in some trouble at 7-3 down to Central, but hit back strongly to take the first four levels to square the match. An unfortunate injury in Central's second ladies led to a concession of both points, but their last men's pairing ensured the draw by claiming the last two games.
Broadway's third string are also going strong in Division Two, climbing into second spot with a 12-6 winning visit to Transport B - their third in succession.
Rising Bridge, trying to recover from a heavy loss last week, seemed to be heading for an even bigger defeat against Fearns B who swept into a 9-1 lead. Bridge reeled off six in a row, but then lost the last two to go down 11-7.
With two defeats in each of their opening two games, both Badgercote B and Waterbarn A were looking to come good at each other's expense, but, in the event, it was Badgercote who took the early initiative and eventually held out for an 11-7 win.
In Division Three there were first wins for both St Philip's, 13-5 against Edenfield and Waterbarn B, 11-7 at Phoenix.
