HELP us raise hundreds of pounds for the local Blind Welfare Society by taking part in a Citizen-backed charity challenge.
Kind-hearted volunteers are limbering up to take on the Fulwood Barracks assault course on Sunday, November 7.
And teams of four - which can be all-male, all-female or mixed - still have time to sign up.
The money raised will be used to provide vital equipment for blind and partially-sighted schoolchildren to do their homework.
The Preston and North Lancashire Blind Welfare Society is often asked to help provide the software required to enable youngsters to work at home, and the cost of speech or magnification software, plus a computer, can cost in excess of £1,000 per unit.
The light-hearted assault course challenge needs each team member to raise £25 in sponsorship - £100 per team.
Local companies can sign up one or more teams, and trophies will be given to the all male, all female and mixed teams who finish the course in the fastest time.
Organiser Kevin Lonergan said: "We are very grateful to the Preston Citizen, for supporting this event."
And Citizen editor Naomi Bunting said: "We're pleased to be able to support such a good cause and hope it generates plenty of interest."
For details, and to enter your team, contact Kevin, or Catherine Simpson, at the Blind Welfare Society at Howick House, Howick Park Avenue, Penwortham, Preston, or call 01772 753701.
