Clock Face Miners 16 Widnes Tigers 8 AFTER three successive defeats Clock were happy to find their winning touch.
But from the start they were under pressure and found it difficult to break from their own half.
However, poor Tigers handling saw Clock full-back Mal Grant pick up and race 50 metres and as he was tackled he slipped the ball to Gary Devine who touched down under the posts. Steve Rybczynski converted.
Clock continued to attack and went further ahead when Damian Grimes sent elusive winger Glyn Walsh in for a try under the posts. Rybczynski converted.
After the breakTigers clawed two tries back. But Clock sealed the points when Rybczynski broke through, drew the full-back and sent Wayne Prescott over.
The Jonwood Joinery man of the match was Carl Thompson.
