NEWTON outfit Vulcan pulled off a major shock in the Warrington and District Football League's Jubilee Trophy.

The Division One side defeated Premier Division high-flyers Whiston Cross 2-1.

Their goals came from Andrew Moore and Gareth Bourne.

Sidac's Mike Clarke and Graham Mitchell grabbed the goals that saw off Sasib, who replied through Paul Oakes.

And Haydock crashed out at the hands of St Michaels.

Wood Albion were knocked out of the Depot Cup by Orford YC, whose winner came three minutes from time. Graham Batty was on target for the Wooders.

The Rylands Cup saw Sidac Reserves defeat Blackbrook Reserves 5-3.

Sidac's marksmen were Jim Barron (2), Dave Pickervance, Alan Crooks and Brian Sheridan, while Brook's goals came from Mark Brighton, Dean McDermott and Barry Picton.

In the Premier Division Brook lost 3-2 to Eagle Sports, despite goals by Martin Dixon and Philip Broadhead.
