Lancashire's Police force is ready for the new millennium, according to a recent inspection.
The local Constabulary was graded 'blue', meaning no risks of material disruption were found.
Around £600,000 is to be spent on the policing operation over the millennium festivities, to ensure they are equipped for any situation and the possible effects of the 'Millennium Bug'.
Extra staff will also be working over the weekend, as well as more stations remaining open all night.
Deputy Chief Constable Paul Stephenson said: "We very much hope and expect that the millennium celebrations in the area will run smoothly."
