FORMER North End keeper Jack Fairbrother died last week at the age of 82. He was instrumental in helping North End win the League and War Cup in 1941 before he was sold for a record fee to Newcastle United.

BRENTFORD coach Ray Lewington tipped Preston for Division One next season following the Bees' 2-1 defeat at Deepdale last Saturday.

Bjarki Gunnlaugsson will face a one match ban for North End before he has even made a first-team start.
