TWO local lads are looking to make it big in the world of business thanks to start up grants from the Prince's Trust.
David Molteni has set up a computer repair, maintenance and training business from his home in Warton while Richard Morphet, a farmer's son disgusted at the high price of meat in supermarkets, plans to cut out the middleman and deliver meat direct to the doorstep.
The charity has recently relaxed its rules so that anyone under 31 can apply and, as well as a £1,500 grant, candidates get access to a very cheap £5,000 loan.
Manager of the Best Centre in Morecambe, Brian Moore, said: "We found that the previous definition of disadvantage was excluding many young people who could really do with our help such as university students who often leave college with massive debts. I would encourage anyone who is under 31 and interested in starting their own business to contact the Trust direct on 01772 848268 to get an application form to see if we can help."
