FOLLOWING a spate of thefts from cars and shed thefts in Rainhill since the beginning of September, the area has been declared a crime 'hot spot' by police.
Most of the offences have taken place around Warrington Road, Rainhill Road and Tasker Terrace and thieves have been targeting cars parked in pub and shop car parks during the evening.
There have also been thefts of tools and gardening equipment from sheds and police are asking people to make sure their cars and property are secure.
If you have any information regarding a theft from the area, you can contact the Crimestoppers hot-line on 0800 555 111, the incident management unit at St Helens on 0151 777 6969 or call into to the South West sector office at Thatto Heath police station.
