A MUSEUM for Radcliffe will be under discussion during Bury Arts Week.
Residents are invited to a public meeting on Monday, November 8, at Radcliffe Civic Suite when the town's new area board begins consultation on the idea.
It is part of larger plans by Bury Council to expand the museum service across the borough, setting up bases in towns outside Bury and linked by technology.
Bosses are trying to find suitable premises and build a collection of Radcliffe exhibits - another area where residents' help will be needed.
The meeting starts at 7pm. Councillor Siobhan Costello, arts and culture spokesman, said: "We are looking at setting up town museums and I am sure people in Radcliffe will be keen to take part in any discussions on the subject."
And there's a chance to pick up some invaluable advice at two conferences to be held at the Met arts centre in Bury.
The first meeting on November 8, is entitled Creative Solutions to Health Issues and runs from 10am to 3.30pm. The seminar is run by the council's arts unit and Bury CVS and looks at how best to use arts in health and social care.
On November 11, a funding advice seminar will be held at 7.30pm.
Mr Charles Rowley, North West Arts Board Lottery officer, will have advice for organisations interested in applying for arts Lottery funds.
Other activities in the week will include an exhibition and workshops with schools, and there is also evening of Asian music at Bury Art Gallery on November 5 at 7pm.
