TYLDESLEY RU went down at league leaders Oldham 20-3.
Despite making all the early running and taking a fourth minutelead through Eddie Wallbank's penalty, they could not breach a tough defensive line.
Scrum-half Lee Cunliffe was full of determination, leading from the front, but a combination of good tackling and unforced errors brought no reward.
The 2nds won 14-7 at Widnes, the tries from Craig Pulman and Steve Parr, both converted by Ian Worsfold.
The 3rds scored a 29-5 against Chorley with a fine team performance. In the forwards Richard Callow and Steve Pulman were outstanding with Mark Dickinson and Mark Quinn tops in the backs. Serge Swanton ran in a hat-trick of tries and landed a 26-yard drop for the MoM award; Quinn added another try with Peter Mannion kicking three conversions.
LEIGH RU's Saturday match in Cumbria was called off because of flooding in Cumbria.
