POLICE are appealing for witness to an accident in London Road, in which a 22-year-old died.

Leon Bulger, of Halsburg Street, died from his injuries after being hit by a car as he crossed the road, around 11.20pm on Sunday (November 7).

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital suffering from head, arm and leg injuries, but died on Tuesday evening.

Car driver Zakir Patel, 23, from St Georges Road, was also taken to RPH suffering slight injuries along with fellow passenger Zubeda Patel, 24, from Deepdale Road, suffering from shock and facial cuts.

Mr Patel was driving towards Walton-le-Dale in the Honda Civic when the accident occurred.

A spokesperson for Preston Police said: "Not many people were in the area at that time in the evening but anyone who did see the accident should call the Road Police Unit on (01772) 209126.

"We need information from anyone who saw the car, or Leon walking down the street."
