AS mayor of the metropolitan borough of St Helens, I wish to continue what has now become a tradition by launching my annual Christmas Toy Appeal to assist those children in most need.
Last year saw a decrease in donations that will inevitably lead us to supporting fewer children this year unless a determined effort is made to raise funds.
Please take a little time to consider this appeal and see if you can make a donation or organise a fund-raising event.
With regards to toys, all gifts are welcome but new ones are preferred. They should not be gift-wrapped and can be delivered to St Helens Town Hall or any community library within the borough.
All donations should be payable to St Helens MBC (Mayor's Toy Appeal) and addressed to Mayor's Christmas Toy Appeal, c/o Mr K. Wakefield, Social Services Department, Red Bank Community Home, Winwick Road, Newton-le-Willows, WA12 8EA.
Any help you are willing to give will be most appreciated.
Councillor Pat Jackson.
