TAKE a peek at these purr-fect little moggies - all fun and fur and looking for new homes after being abandoned in a cardboard box outside a Bamber Bridge veterinary surgery.

Head nurse Olwyn Humphries, pictured, couldn't believe her eyes when she found the tiny kittens dumped outside the Withy Grove Veterinary Clinic, in Station Road, earlier this week. The 'magnificent seven' were cold and frightened and huddled together like sardines in a tin!

But despite their terrifying ordeal, most of the six to eight-week-old kittens are fighting fit, and on the prowl for a nice new home in time for a nibble of the Christmas turkey.

However would-be 'parents' will have to hurry, veterinary staff have already earmarked three as future pets.

Deputy veterinary surgeon Amanda Hogan said: "We have no idea who did this or how long the kittens had been outside the surgery but we're glad that the person had the good sense to put them outside a veterinary practice.

"Initially they were really scared and spitting. But they've calmed down and are very friendly, although two of them have got a touch of flu!

"We're urging the owner of the mother to contact us and we'll arrange to get the cat neutered, to make sure this doesn't happen again. "
