ORGANISERS of coach travel tourism were treated to a weekend of tourist attractions in and around Lancaster at the weekend.
A total of 65 operators from places such as the West Midlands, Yorkshire and Edinburgh enjoyed the Castle fireworks, the Eric Morecambe statue and a tour of Leighton Hall.
The visit, to boost tourism to the area, was a joint venture between Group Travel Organiser Ltd (GTO) and the city council's tourism service.
Marketing officer Suzi Williams said: "GTO brought along their own photographer and journalist and they will be featuring the visit in the next edition of their trade magazine, which is mailed out to coach companies and party visit organisers throughout the country."
Tourism Chairman, Cllr June Ashworth, said: "They were very impressed by the variety of the district and we now hope they will include Morecambe and Lancaster in future programmes."
