DANISH international Per Frandsen was Blackburn Rovers player of the month for October according to Match magazine.
Frandsen got the vote with an average rating of 7.0 for his six appearances in a Rovers shirt during the month.
But that still did not save him from the chop when caretaker boss Tony Parkes picked his 16-man squad for the game against Ipswich last weekend.
Meanwhile, Frandsen was in the Denmark squad for their Euro 2000 play off first leg clash with Israel today.
ENGLAND captain Alan Shearer scored Blackburn Rovers greatest ever goal, according to a new fans' survey by Total Football.
Readers of the magazine were asked to vote on their club's greatest ever strike and Shearer's effort in a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Ewood in April 1994 came out on top amongst Rovers fans.
There are some interesting entries in the overall survey which is set to be published in the next issue of Total Magazine.
Perhaps the most dramatic effort of the lot was keeper Jimmy Glass's last gasp winner for Carlisle against Plymouth in May which kept the Blues in the Football League.
But then Blackburn fans know all about Glass's heroics after his performance between the sticks for Swindon against Rovers earlier this season earned Jimmy Quinn's men a priceless 2-1 victory.
