TWO goals in a minute midway through the first half sank erratic Harwood as Denis Underwood's men crashed out of this season Carlsberg FA Vase with little more than a whimper.
Underwood was bitterly disappointed at the manner in which his side capitulated and they never recovered after that first half double whammy.
"Just when you think you are moving in the right direction you suddenly start moving backwards," said Underwood.
"My expectations were quite high before the game and I was hoping we could take the game by the scruff of the neck and have a real go at them.
"But that never happened."
Scott Nicholson set the visitors on their way, nipping in to head home a corner after keeper John Morrey had just pushed an effort around the post.
And barely a minute later, Dean Clough added the killer second with a looping header after a swift raid down the flank.
Graham Lightbown did have two first half chances for Harwood but failed to take advantage and Harwood hardly threatened after that.
Danny Keys grabbed Crook's third midway through the second half, lashing home shot from the edge of the box after a corner had only been half cleared. And with 10 minutes remaining the visitors added a fourth to warp up a comprehensive victory.
Great Harwood play host to Colne at The Showground tonight (kick-off 7.30pm) in an LFA Marsden Trophy first round tie.
