A SINGLE man allegedly sexually assaulted five little girls and got into bed with one of them, a court heard.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Graham Farrer, 44, "babysat" for his alleged victims, using the opportunity to fondle the children.
Farrer, of Bath Street, Colne, denies six charges of indecent assault. Angelina Dennett, prosecuting, said some of the youngsters stayed overnight at the defendant's house and one had her own key.
Farrer took the opportunity to fondle the girls, aged 10 and 11.
Miss Dennett said Farrer's behaviour continued until the beginning of February this year, when a complaint was made to police.
Each alleged victim was interviewed.
Farrer was also interviewed by the police and denied his conduct was ever anything that could be considered indecent.
Cross-examined by Mark Stuart, defending, the child agreed she got on well with Farrer.
She said he was like a "grandad" to her and she had always been keen to go to his house.
The child said Farrer never touched her anywhere he shouldn't and she was never frightened of him.
The child said she had never seen the defendant do anything wrong to any of her friends.
