WHALLEY Juniors, top of the Under 14s Blue League, were beaten 1-0 in a closely fought battle with third placed Oswaldtwistle Juniors.
There were mixed fortunes for the Hyndburn sides in the LFA Under 14s Club Cup competition. Blackburn Eagles progressed through to the next round with a great win over Oxford Grove from Bolton, while Langho Juniors were beaten in extra time by Bolton Lads Club.
In the Elgin Manufacturing Cup, the game of the day was between Blackburn Eagles and Blackburn Boys, first and second in the league. The game was decided by the odd-goal-in-three, favour of Blackburn Boys.
In the Under 16s Red League, Rishton United lost their 100 per cent record to top-placed Oswaldtwistle St Mary's by the odd-goal- in-three.
