ARSONISTS have caused extensive damage to the former Waterloo Hotel in Trafalgar Street, Burnley, for the second night running.

The empty building has just been sold to a buyer from the south of England who intends to redevelop it. Trafalgar Street was closed for two hours last night as fire crews tackled the blaze. They found several seats of fire and the incident is now under investigation.

The fire crews were alerted at 10.30pm just 24 hours after a similar attack on the building.
