NEARLY 150 women gathered at Burnley's Habergham High School for the annual East Lancashire Women's Day Conference.
Guest speaker was Reona Joly, from New Zealand, who now lives in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. She works for the Youth With A Mission Organisation and is a Bible teacher.
She has written a book on Albania and she explained the political situation in Kosovo and Albania. She also contrasted the work of Mother Teresa with that of Diana, Princess of Wales, and talked about the legacy they had both left.
The audience also discussed questions in groups to help explore the issues in the talk.
The East Lancashire Women's Day Conference, a Christian organisation, was founded 17 years ago and the conference is open to people of all religions.
