WORKERS at British Aerospace are celebrating the Italian job!
The first of the Eurofighter Typhoon rear fuselage assemblies has been delivered to Italy in the first major shipment between the four partner nations of the project.
The assembly, built in Samlesbury's dedicated Eurofighter facility, is made up of 700 parts and manufactured from aluminium and titanium.
Now in Italy, the structure will be fitted with avionics equipment and other components before being shipped for final assembly.
"This has been a real team effort," said Ross Bradley, Eurofighter project director. "The fact that the customer has received it on time and to specification proves that the processes we have put in place are meeting expectations demanded by the project."
