THERE was a chance to do some early Christmas shopping at Derwent Hall's Christmas fair in Darwen.
And children had a special treat as Santa paid a visit and talked to youngsters in his grotto, helped out by Holy Trinity Brownies.
A variety of stalls sold crafts, home-made cakes, ornaments, bric-a-brac, books and videos.
Users of the day care centre at Derwent Hall, in George Street helped out by making ornaments and flower arrangements. All the proceeds will go towards Darwen Old People's Welfare at Derwent Hall.
Centre manager Mrs Doreen Hicken said: "I'd like to thank everybody who donated items for the fair, particularly Kath Walmsley who runs Trimdown slimming classes at Derwent Hall. She donated all her books, videos and ornaments. I'd also like to thank our management committee and all the volunteers who gave up their time to help out."
