ON the eleventh day, of the eleventh month and at the eleventh hour, in Burnley men and women of all ages stood in silence for the dead of two world wars and with respect and admiration for them.
But from the steps of the Magistrates' Court came shouts of "Up the IRA!" above the sound of the Last Post.
The men who did this are not worthy of being British.
In fact, the men who were shot in 1914-1918 war for being cowards should be exonerated and these so-called men put on the steps of the court house in Burnley to take their place and be shot.
I hope we never forget what went on in the 1914-1918 and 1939-45 wars and those since.
Because if we ever do forget, then God help us, with men like these.
