THE World Society for the Protection of Animals is one of four successful new applicants for street collections approved by Burnley Council.
Other successful applicants were the Children's Country Breaks Association, which provides care for terminally ill, special needs and disabled children; the Brainwave Charity for brain-injured children; and Burnley Disability Information Service which needs extra funds for day-to-day running of services for the disabled.
More than 30 organisations which received approval in past years will continue to hold street collections.
