WATERWAY workers who began their careers working on Britain's longest canal are celebrating 25 years in the job. Aaron Farnworth, engineer, and Phil Robinson, reservoir keeper, both live in Burnley and were apprenticed at British Waterways' Burnley yard working on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
Aaron said: "Phil and I have seen major changes to the canal and it is very satisfying to have played a part in helping to transform it into the popular waterway it is today." At a recent ceremony they received awards from British Waterways chief executive David Fletcher.
