POLICE investigating a fatal assault at a Todmorden nightclub have released a 35-year-old man on police bail.
Father-of-two Darren Jay, 32, of Halifax Road, Littleborough, died in Trafford Hospital, Manchester, on Monday night after an incident outside the Blue Note Night Club, Butterworth Street, on Sunday.
A post mortem examination revealed he died from a head injury.
On Monday detectives arrested a 35-year-old man from Bury and he was being interviewed at Halifax Police Station yesterday but today a spokesman announced he had been released while inquiries continued.
Det Chief Supt Brian Taylor today renewed his appeal for any witnesses to contact the incident room on 01422 337047.
