HUNCOAT United Under 16s played Brunlea with both strikers away and gave a good account of themselves with a lone striker. Goals came from Andy Baker's good run through in the first half and Karim Webb in the second. The Final score was 2-1 to Huncoat Utd.
The Under 10 Stars lost 9-0 to Newchurch Colts. Mark Williams, the manager's man of the match and Robin Berry (goalkeeper) who played with one boot, deserve a mention.
The Under 12s beat Ossy Villa 9-0 on Saturday. Goals came from D Mallabourne (3), man of the match M Parkes (2), J Howarth (2) and one each from Lloyd Stinson and Thomas Riley. On Sunday, they won 7-0 over Whalley Juniors. Goals from D Mooring (3), D Burrell (2) and man of the match Levi Hickey (2). The Under 13s beat Whitworth 8-5 with a much depleted side. Scorers were Graeme Sneddon and Liam Wright (two each), Michael Ryan, Paul Cross, Simon Cottam and Andy Watson.
The Under 14s had a fine 6-1 win over Readstone, goals from Neville Nelson (2), Stuart Mitichell, Jordan Allen, David Usman and Phil Stephenson. Man of the match was Edward O'Neil.
The Under 15s lost out in the Cup to Langho 6-1. The ball wouldn't go in, despite having 80 per cent of the play. Scorer was Anthony Wardle (manager's man of the match).
