POLL tax bills could cost East Lancashire people 50 per cent more than government predictions when the new tax replaced the rates, warned Lancashire County Council's Labour Group.
Councillors claimed every East Lancashire adult would be hit with charges between £270 and £340 to allow the council to continue providing the same services.
