THE management of a night club at the centre of a murder-style inquiry have appealed to customers to co-operate with police.
Father-of-two Darren Jay, 32, of Halifax Road, Littleborough, died in Trafford Hospital, Manchester, on Monday night after an alleged assault outside the Blue Note Night Club, Butterworth Street, Todmorden, on Sunday.
A post mortem examination revealed he died from a head injury.
A 35-year-old Bury man who was interviewed by detectives at Halifax has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Witnesses who saw anything outside or inside the club are asked to contact police on 01422 337047.
The management of the Blue Note Night Club has released a statement saying: "It is with great sadness that we heard that Darren Jay from Littleborough had died.
"We have cooperated fully with the police investigations which are extensive and we ask if anyone has any information they should contact Calder Valley Police.
"We also request the public and press not to speculate or proliferate rumours of this tragic situation until the police investigations are complete."
