LEAGUE action was all but suspended in the Preston and District League as the GuildHall Cup second round took place, with some very exciting games emerging on the area's parks.

Premier Division leaders Bamber Bridge scraped through to the next round with a 4-3 win over CCA Stacey's, while Leyland St Mary's were crushed 5-1 by Burscough Richmond. Lostock St Gerard's cruised through with a 4-1 win over Bretherton.
