ON Wednesday, November 10 at the NatWest Bank in St Helens, I handed over £1,503.06 to Cancer Research co-ordinator, Joanna Lavelle. This was the proceeds from my sponsored skydive on Saturday, September 25.
It is entirely due to the people of St Helens, Prescot, Rainhill, Whiston, Ashton, Rainford, Haydock, Wigan and part of Liverpool, and those who gave and honoured their pledges, that so much money was raised for Cancer Research Campaign. I only collected it. It is the people who gave who deserve the 'honours.'
However, if everyone who had pledged, had honoured those pledges, the grand total could have been a lot more.
But a big thank-you to all who gave to the Cancer Research Campaign.
P.S. I look forward to your support once again when I do it all again in 2000 - I'll be nearer 71 years old then!
