A SPORTY echo, which could reach back to the first world war years, has popped up during a St Helens house clearance.
It is in the shape of an ornate silver-hallmarked boxing medal inscribed with the name of Private E. Rimmer of the Lancashire Hussars.
The reader who made the find (he asks to remain anonymous) now wonders if there are any descendants of the battling soldier who would like to lay claim to it.
CLAIMS, with evidence, must be put in writing and addressed to me at the Star. Sorry, but I cannot take telephone calls on the subject.
