I FEEL I must write regarding the pubs and clubs in town who charge people money on the doors to go in and spend their hard-earned money.
Some of these rip-offs over Christmas, and especially over the New Year, need to be investigated by Trading Standards Officers.
I have heard of ordinary pubs charging an entrance fee double or treble for the Millennium. Why don't we all stay at home this New Year's Eve and play this lot at their own game?
I, for one won't be going out New Year, I'll probably have a nice quiet drink at home and celebrate in my own way. Nobody will shout 'last orders' and no extortionate taxi fares to pay.
So come on let's show what people power can do. If this could happen, I bet next year there probably won't be so many places willing to charge customers an entrance fee to spend their own money.
