AS a disabled person and a wheelchair user I was disappointed by the response to stage two of stage three of the Disability Discrimination Act.
As you are aware this came into force on the October 1. This was to be the revolution in the high street for disabled people, but unfortunately it didn't happen.
We all thought this would make quite a difference to access to many service providers' premises. But no.
So, after hearing from a colleague that there was to be a Phil Cool concert at our local town hall, to be held in the Lancastrian Suite, I telephoned Grace Gregson of Chorley CVS, who runs the local Disability Forum.
Grace broke the news to me gently, that the building was not accessible particularly for wheelchair users.
So, once again, I was disappointed and didn't know where to turn. I hope perhaps that you can help.
