AS a regular contributor to "Your Letters", and acknowledging the fact that it is always over-subscribed, why has the Bury Times permitted the slanging match between ex-councillor Albert Little and deputy council leader John Byrne to drag on over the past weeks?
I have always attempted to make my contributions constructive and topical, but these two gentlemen are debating things which happened more than a decade ago.
As a ratepayer I would prefer that Councillor Byrne, who receives £14,784 plus out-of-pocket expenses per annum, concentrated his efforts on next year's council budget rather than spending his, and council employees', time on historical matters that are now best forgotten.
