BLACKPOOL inline hockey-players proved they were hotshots at a national championship at the weekend (Nov 13/14).

Anthony Wilding, of Newton Drive, goalkeeper for the Blackpool Hotshots' U12s Peewees, and defender Karl Kirkham, of Bispham Road, were both picked for the Dream Team selected by managers after the British Inline Skater Association national championships in Torbay.

Karl was also top-scorer in the competition against 24 top teams from all over the country. The Hotshots, representing the north-west, managed to get through to the quarter-finals even though they were lacking a full squad.

"It was a team effort - everyone was outstanding," said manager Tony Wilding. The Hotshots would welcome new recruits, any age up to 15, practising weekly at Blackpool Stanley Park Sports Centre. Call Mr Wilding on 302908 for more details.
