BLACKPOOL Scorpions had to make ten changes for this first round of the North West Counties Challenge Cup.
Jonathan Oulton came in for his debut on the wing and veteran Dave Gavaghan played at hooker. Phil Webster started his first game since breaking his collar bone in September.
Haresfinch play in two divisions higher than the Scorpions and against a makeshift side they soon piled up the points, running in six tries in the first half to lead 32-0 at the break.
Although up against overwhelming odds, the Scorpions put up a spirited display.
They were rewarded when hard working scrum-half Andy Johnston put full back Mark Chapman into a gap and he scored in the corner.
Chapman's attempted conversion just fell short. But it was mainly one-way traffic and Haresfinch ran in six more tries to run out easy winners 58-4.
For the Scorpions, Shaun Towell had his best game of the season and Andy Johnson was always in the thick of things.
