West Sutton Dragons 29 Ulverston 12 DRAGONS claimed a notable scalp by knocking high flying Ulverston out of the North West Counties Challenge Cup. They raced into an early 10-0 lead with tries from Jay McCabe and Craig Jones.
It gave them the confidence they needed and allowed them to play some open and attractive football.
The foundation of this victory was laid down by solid defence which continued throughout, with the visitors restricted to two late second half tries.
Points for Wests came from Andy Wilburn, Craig Simm, Jay McCabe and Gary Hamman with Greg Stubbs adding four goals and Andy Wilburn a drop goal.
In an all-round team effort Shaun McNamara earned the man of the match award closely followed by Ady Spencer and Paul Rigby.
