ST HELENS Schools under 15s twice came from behind to beat Chester 4-2.
Their scorers were Higherside's Daley Hollingworth (2), Lee Anders (Rainford) and Andrew Lambert (St Cuthberts).
The under 14s produced an improved display that encouraged manager Tony Graves, before they succumbed 3-2. Scorer was Chris Dearden (Sutton). Meanwhile, the under 11s travelled to Lancaster and registered a 8-0 success. Scorers were John Bathurst (3), Chris Powell (2), John McEvoy, David Smith and skipper Greg Tansey, who named man of the match.
De La Salle's Paul Fitzhenry has been selected for the Merseyside under 16s squad.
This weekend the under 15s are at West Lancashire and the under 14s host Liverpool at Ruskin Drive. The under 13s play Blackburn and the under 11s play Maghull, both at Rainhill High. All kick-offs are at 10.30am.
