A REWARD is up for grabs for information leading to the safe recovery of the much-loved local character - Mr Pin!

Morecambe Superbowl's colourful cartoon cardboard cut-out went missing during a charity bowling night for the Blind Welfare Society and, because most people were blindfolded, nobody saw the culprits make off with the 6ft tall figure.

Close scrutiny of the CCTV cameras has revealed that the disappearance of Mr Pin could well be a student prank but Superbowl bosses are pleading with the kidnappers to bring him back home.

"We've offered a reward because we'd really love to see Mr Pin back where he belongs," said manager, Roger Spelling.

"He's very popular at the young children's parties and he's used for our promotions. His disappearance is quite surreal as everyone was blindfolded at the time and we feel a bit silly but without him we're left with just a cardboard box.

"Looking at the CCTV it looks like it might be a student prank and he's probably decorating someone's bedroom right now but we'd like him back and there's a reward for information leading to his safe recovery."
