LANCASTER lad David Wright collected his award for becoming the youngest EVER British Junior Rally champion this week.
The 19-year-old won his class in five of the six championship rallies this summer. In January he will collect his trophy for the most promising young driver but this week he received his award from Swedish men's clothing manufactures Melka who sponsored the championship. They awarded David a £500 wardrobe of fashionable top quality casual clothing.
Said David: "Most of my wages from the family garage business in Lancaster go towards running the rally car. Now, with Melka's award, I've got some style to add to the results and the publicity has helped with the sponsorship for next season when we'll be moving up behind the wheel of a Group A Vauxhall Corsa."
