DURING the coming weeks The Cancer Research Campaign aims to raise much needed cash for research into breast cancer, a disease that affects one in 11 women in the UK.

Increasing numbers of women are surviving this disease because of earlier detection and better treatments.

Among the 140 projects supported by The Cancer Research Campaign, scientists are looking into breast cancer prevention using the drug tamoxifen, the development of new drugs and improving radiotherapy.

The campaign continues to fund pioneering research looking into new and better treatments - but research costs money.

If you would like to give breast cancer research a boost this month why not help us by taking a box of pink Breast Cancer Awareness ribbons to work, or an event, and asking your colleagues, friends and family for a donation.

Just contact The Cancer Research Campaign on (0161) 793 1313 and we'll send you some ribbons and a display box.

Wear a pink ribbon with pride, because you're helping save lives. Joanna Lavelle,

Regional director,

The Cancer Research Campaign.
