THREE years ago the ladies of Golborne St Thomas' craft group decided to stitch up a wall hanging to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the church.
Trixie Roberts produced a three-fold design, which was drawn by her husband Tony, in the early part of 1997.
The work, which is now complete and hanging in the church, symbolises the past, present and future of the church and village.
Many different crafts were used including French knitting, applique, embroidery, crochet, needle lace making, machine embroidery, couching, leather work, stump work and knitting.
Fourteen ladies who added their contributions were Ethel Anderton, Margaret Bracegirdle, Betsy Edwards, Maude Hindley, Lily Littler, Hilda Marsden, Barbara Naylor, Ursula Plant, Carole Serjent, Betty Topping, Joyce Topping, Pam Topping, Hilda Williams and Rita Williams.
The frame was constructed by Carl Lowes.
To mark the church's 150th anniversary, an open day was staged in church.
