THE city council has taken on eight new starters as part of the Modern Apprentice Scheme.
As well as a full time wage and qualifications, the apprentices will learn new skills and receive on the job training.
One of the new apprentices, Cath Dunkley, said: "It's a great opportunity as I can study for a worthwhile course and gain proper experience, all whilst earning a full time wage. I'm really enjoying the whole experience and I have security now for the next couple of years."
