WHILE many actors tread the boards, one theatre group is braving breezy Fleetwood Esplanade for a performance of The Consulting Room.

The Live Wire Group, together with the IOU Theatre, are bringing their contemporary theatre with a difference to Fleetwood tomorrow for three days.

The show has been devised especially for Fleetwood's beach and beach huts - so all members of the audience have been advised to wrap up well.

IOU's producer, Richard Sobey said: "It is going to be cold. But we do a lot of site specific work.

"We are very interested in letting the site form and shape ideas.

"Beaches are fantastic places because they represent the beginning of journeys and you don't know what's over the horizon.

"Fleetwood is a fantastic place and the huts are lovely, like small examples of houses where people experience all manner of things.

"We use nine huts in the performance and they have enabled us to explore the idea of a journey through illness."

IOU Theatre is renowned for imaginative and spectacular theatre and has been working with a group of 10 people at Daedalian Glass, Stalmine, to help them develop live performing skills.

The Changing Room is the first opportunity for some of those people to display their new-found talents.

Tickets cost £2 for shows at 1pm and 3pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and they must be booked in advance.

Members of the audience are invited to meet at the Marine Hall 15 minutes before each performance.
