POLICE in St Helens Crime Prevention Unit are advising residents to be wary of door-to-door salesmen selling house or car alarms. This follows a number of reported incidents of callers visiting the homes of elderly residents and using bullying sales techniques to force them to buy alarms at exorbitant prices. For advice on how to deal with home callers, contact PCs Alison Armitt or Paul Mangnall at the CPU on 0151 777 6059.
