RESIDENTS living close to Schola Green Lane in Morecambe are breathing a sigh of relief after their level crossing was refurbished for the first time in 20 years.
A request by Cllrs David Kerr and Nick Westwell to improve the crossing was put to Railtrack in May and workmen laid a special grip surface, repaired the gates and cleared away the rubbish this week.
Said local Cllr Kerr: "It's nice that after an initial delay Railtrack came out and did all the work in one day. The crossing has needed some attention for sometime and if anyone else has any concerns about the crossing they should contact us."
