NEWTON has received another cash boost from Europe with the news that £78,000 has been given to Newton 21 from the European Regional Development Fund to provide better access and improve the natural heritage trail around the area.
The circular heritage route around Newton is being developed through the Wargrave and Fairbrothers Pathway Groups and the Newton Heritage Action Group will assist in carrying out the project. Work is expected to take place between 2000 and 2001.
Plans of the trail can be seen at Newton Library on Crow Lane East.
